According to recent regulations, customs clearance for common medicines such as Tylenol, Tums (antacid), and Minoxidil (hair loss treatment) is now prohibited for imports through overseas direct purchase. This is due to the Korea Customs Service's (KCS) recent enforcement of the customs clearance process for these products, which was requested by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The reason behind this is that online sales of prescription drugs are illegal under the Korean Pharmaceutical Affairs Act. There are only three designated products for which approval documents from the director of the Korea Food and Drug Administration are required to clear customs:
- Tylenol products containing acetaminophen
- Tums antacid products
- Minoxidil products
Unauthorized reproduction or redistribution prohibited.
